First of all, thank you for appreciating my posts here. I also find you to be very entertaining. I was reading your commentary in the Invicta FC 13 thread and some of your one liners were pure gold. Pardon me for assuming but I thnk you may have partaken in the consumption of a few happy beverages? :)
If you don’t mind me asking, who am I showing hatred towards? Me saying that Serena should have won best Athlete over Ronda Rousey is a personal opinion and I indicated that in my response earlier. Ronda is an exceptional athlete and as a woman in MMA she has achieved more than what most have and that is a beautiful thing but your response isn’t answering why winning an ESPY will benefit WMMA as a division and not just Ronda. WMMA has been in the UFC for the last two years but the only name people associate this with is Ronda and why is that? If the UFC were really invested in WMMA why not give all the female fighters the same platform and UFC PR machine and see what they can do as opposed to just the "UFC Marketable" fighters. WMMA in the UFC in my opinion has only benefited Ronda and the UFC and I gave examples of why I have this opinion in the response to Steve4192
I watched the interview and Media scrum that Ronda took part in and she said something along the lines of she made that comment towards Floyd because he said a year ago that he didn’t know who she was.
I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said. “I’d like to see you pretend to not know who I am now.”
Following the dis, MMAjunkie and other reporters caught up with Rousey to discuss the ESPYs, where she also scored a bit of an upset in winning “Best Female Athlete,” and her long-awaited opportunity to call out Mayweather. After all, Rousey said Mayweather started the rivalry a year ago when he claimed he didn’t know who “he” – Rousey – was.
“I know for damn sure he knew who I was,” Rousey said. “He was running against me for ‘Best Fighter’ that year and he had signed MMA fighters, so his feigned ignorance was meant to really be a snarky remark to me. …
“I don’t let those kind of things slide, but I’m also a patient girl. I’m not the kind of chick you make snarky remarks about. I waited a whole year to say something. And you know what? If I didn’t win ‘Best Fighter’ this year, I would have waited two years or three years.”
And the timing of it all?
“It got a big reaction, and I’ve got a fight to sell,” she said with a laugh. “So great timing, huh? I’m not dumb.”http://mmajunkie.com/2015/07/this-is-why-ronda-rousey-dissed-floyd-mayweather-jr-at-the-espys
Ronda said that Tyson has owned up to what he did and tried to life his life on the straight path . I have friends who would disagree with that after attending to his one man show and reading his Autobiography and finding that he was rather unapologetic for his previous behavior. That is beside the point. In my opinion everyone should be given a second chance if they can prove that they are truly repent for what they did wrong. I didn’t offer a personal opinion on the Floyd/Tyson situation, if you read my response I am bringing a conversation piece to the party. What I did say is that Ronda has no problem forgiving Tyson for his transgressions which are way more serious than one failed PED test but is constantantly using her platform to be disrespectful towards Cris. That is the hypocrisy that I do not understand
