You want other women to get PVZ level of attention..? So basically you want the MMA community to make increasingly patronising comments on how good more women could be, while celebrating non threatening in cage female talent, and banal out of cage personality? LOL....
Seriously though, we all know much of the so called PVZ "It Factor" is predicated on highly simplistic factors, that will likely take a significant amount of damage at the first sign of a genuine top ten contender; making the PVZ route to success nothing more than a piece of super short term opportunism on the part of Zuffa.
I agree that more of the ELITE women should be on main cards though, and personally found it highly disappointing to see Herrig vs PVZ as the first 115 fight on main card Fox... but again, short term decisions like this will only blow up in the face of Zuffa anyway, as many smaller elite guys also found themselves on the short end of that bullshit decision too.
On the nature of promotional work, I always find it interesting that MMA fans can't accept that some fighters are simply better at this aspect of the game than others. You give some fighters mic time with the UFC, and other than the hardcore MMA fan base, your not going to see much interest in what they have to offer anybody.
This isn't mine or anybody else's attempt to belittle the character of any particular athlete either, but the market always speaks for it's self on this, giving us a large amount of MMA fans simply interested the way PVZ looks, or the way a McGreggor talks and fights, while everybody outside of the bubble enjoy the way a Rousey does all three.
For being unapologetically brazen, Rousey's pretty much loathed within the MMA fan bubble, but has instead struck a chord with a unexpected large mainstream audience; and it's inside this MMA vacuum of loathing which Rousey's now left behind, that people expect Zuffa to promote other highly financially viable women... huh?
At this point in time, the women of the UFC continue to be a minority the MMA audience simply tolerate right now, only accepting them on the very terms Rousey won't adhere to. So I hear the points about Rousey's prominence being unfair on others, but what are the other women doing beyond the things we already know don't work, to be on the same level or above the men of UFC, let alone it's biggest stars..?
Karnak,

Pardon me but I think you are misunderstanding my point. Ideally I would hope that all the women in the 115 and 135 division be offered the opportunities which are presented to Miesha and Ronda in terms of promoting the UFC in the media. Allowing the casual UFC fans to get to know them. How they are recieved by some MMA fans is some, not all. If Paige does lose the fact still remains that she was given the opportunity that others have not been given even though they rank higher than she is and, I say this with respect are more evolved with their Maritial Arts. If it is not Paige, it could be Rose, it could be Michelle it could be Alexa but in my opinon, and I say this respectfully, the formula is still the same.

I totally agree with you. However, that doesnt negate from the fact that some fighters are not again even being offered an opportunity to do any of that. That is the point I have been making. Mighty Mouse Johnson is a dominant champion, has almost cleared out his division but how often is Mouse in Vegas or in Europe promoting a fight card? Sarah Kaufmann interviews very well, has been in the sport for a long time, why is she not in Brazil promoting a UFC card? Casual UFC fans with respect, are going to like what is heavily promoted in front of them. Why not use that opportunity to promote the company as a whole as opposed to just a few?

I respectfully disagree with your point that Ronda is loathed, if she can pull in 500+ PPVs with fans disliking her then I would hate to see the PPVs if fans actually did like her.

You make a great point, we dont know what is going on behind the scenes and I am not sure what you are referring to in terms of " beyond the things we already know don't work" but again it doesnt negate from the fact that the UFC have 50+ female fighters on their roster but we only see two constantly promoting the company. I doubt very much that 48+ female fighters are just sitting at home not wanting to advance in their careers.
