Edgar is the kind of looking busy but not landing anything of importance.
He gets takedowns but everyone stand right back up, he punches in bunches but they are all pitter patter.

How does just catching a kick that you eat to the ribs and the side mean jack shit over actually landing the kick? He landed nothing almost every time he caught a kick. Frankie got out struck and took way more damage. He had the control in the wrestling the problem is he couldn't hold Ben down and do anything with those takedowns.

I thought Benson won rounds 1 - 4. Had Edgar with round 5. They both landed at a similar clip except Edgar strikes were far less powerful except in round 5. I thought Benson pretty much bullied Edgar until round 5. Round 1 Benson smashed Edgar's eye. Round 2 he smashed Edgar's nose. Also watch Frankie's corner in between rounds they're frantic and there's panic. Contrast that to Bensons' corner.
Frankie got beat up a bit and Benson was as fresh in round 1 as he was in round 5. It was amazing seeing Edgar catch so many leg kicks but even his counters after weren't very effective. Same with his leg kicks. Edgar landed a lot of leg kicks but they seemed to have zero effect on Benson.

Your definition of doing nothing is very vague. He caught the kick, so therefore anything he does after that is a counter/doing something. And correct me if I'm wrong but counters are huge in any sport. He threw multiple punches in bunches after those caught kicks. The first round he took ben down with those same caught kicks. And if catching those kicks really were nothing then why doesn't very fighter catch kicks and hold a opponent up if it's THAT easy? Because its not, Frankie was the man and read those kicks to a T!

Wow! I'm surprised there are some people that think Frankie won. Unless you are just a hardcore Edgar fan, there's no way you can give him the victory.
Bendo outstruck him throughout the fight AND landed more significant strikes AND came close to finishing on more than one occasion without being in trouble at any point in the 25 minute fight, so it would just be impossible to see it any other way than Bendo winning.
How would Edgar have won the fight without getting Bendo in trouble, or coming close to finishing, or doing any damage, all the while getting outstruck on the feet? From those takedowns that amounted to absolutely nothing? Thats just absurdity and emotion talking rather than logic.

they landed at about the same rate but the big difference was that benson landed way harder shots. as far as catching kicks go, who cares unless you counter with a big shot and make the guy pay. yeah it's impressive for him to catch the kicks but if you don't counter effectively it's pointless which is why benson kept throwing the kicks.
the first round benson smashed edgars eye. round two he smashed edgars nose. if you wanna discredit fight metric what about those leg kicks that edgar landed that did nothing to benson. benson fought exactly the same from start to finish. the guy was not hurt or even tired by round 5. on the other hand edgar was bullied for most of the fight.
I thought Henderson won the fight, but it's awesome to see that Edgar has actual nuthuggers posting for him on the UG finally. He's a great fighter, and deserving of your 50-45 silly talk.

So I gave it to him 48-47 Good fight though and will be mad if he don't get a rematch after taking on BJ and Maynard twice when he won. Now that he loses people tell him to go to 145, I would be pissed if I was him.people have been telling him to go to '45 for awhile. staying at '55 is just bringing him even more punishment. look at what he had to go through twice with maynard. look at the bendo fight. bendo didn't even look like he had been in a fight and edgar looked like he went through a gang beating.
IMO Frankie won for sure you do not judge a fight by how much a guy bleeds or how bad his face looks,Plus you have to beat the belt. But it sure works out for UFC they no longer want a stagnant weight class they need to make $ off the classes. Look at GSP people are sick of seeing same old champ he defended to many times there is a big loss of interest in GSPs fights (before he got injured). They also have Jose Aldo dressed up and nowhere to go he beat everyone so far wouldn't it be great if Edgar lost 10lbs and fought him who wouldnt pay to see that or benson vs Pettis.
